Ben Ellis

 
 

A retired air traffic controller-turned independent audio technician and film producer, Ben Ellis has a proven ability to work alongside team members in high-stress, time-critical situations (including special event assignments such as The Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia)—and in diverse workplace locales and environments. He is proficient in social media and audio signal recording and processing, as well as conversant across a wide range of computer platforms and applications, including installation, maintenance and upgrading of MAC and PC systems and home networking and a variety of audio software. Working with Gravy Productions, he was one of the co-producers of the independent documentary “The Strip: Tuscaloosa’s Most Colorful Quarter-Mile,” which was included in the 2020 George Lindsey UNA Film Fest , and featured that same year at Sidewalk Cinema in Birmingham as part of its “Locals Only” series. He was the 2014 recipient of the Colgan Bryan Award for Outstanding Work in Science, Technology, & Culture Studies in The University of Alabama New College LifeTrack, and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

 

Kristi Lamont Ellis

The author of Working Through Change, a structured workbook with practical guidance for those in life and career transitions, Kristi Lamont Ellis is a confidential advisor to mid-level and senior executives on career search materials and interview techniques. She also works as a private pro bono consultant for select not-for-profit entities on communications planning and execution, as well as organizational and/or development strategies. Ellis is an expert interviewer, writer and editor with a deep background in media relations, internal communications and crisis communication, in addition to being a strong manager of people, processes and projects. A former construction worker and award-winning investigative reporter who financed the majority of her college education at the University of Alabama with scholarships and career-related employment, she has worked in manufacturing, medicine, higher education, public radio, and the financial industry, as well as for a variety of media outlets. A current member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), she also has served in senior leadership positions for various civic, professional, and philanthropic organizations.
